The long-forgotten painted oeuvre of Victor Wolfvoet (1612–1652) had recently been rediscovered and re-examined. This small Antwerp master can be considered one of Rubens’s most faithful followers. With eagerness and precision he copied his paintings and oil sketches and it is assumed that he had access to Rubens’s workshop. Attention was also given to Wolfvoet’s decoration of the Antwerp cabinet in the Rubenshuis.
