Collections online

The collections of the Rubenianum are digitally grouped into three sections: the online catalogue providing bibliographic access to the research collections on site, the Corpus Rubenianum Ludwig Burchard Online, and RKDimages. These online resources are constantly updated and expanded and are indispensable to research in our field.

Online Catalogue

The online catalogue is the key to the Rubenianum’s research collections on site:

  • Via ‘Library and documentation’ you can search bibliographical references of all research collections of the Rubenianum: analogue books and articles, digital resources and online databases, as well as the artist documentation and art-historical archives. The detailed indexing with artists’ names, collections, subjects of the Art and Architecture Thesaurus (AAT) and iconographical themes provide additional search options under the search key ‘Subjects’.
  • Via ‘Archives’ you can browse through detailed archival descriptions or our art historical archives.

Corpus Rubenianum Ludwig Burchard Online

The Rubenianum provides a complete overview of all the volumes of the Corpus Rubenianum Ludwig Burchard, indicating which volumes have yet to be published and which have already been published. Some of the published volumes have been digitized and can be downloaded. The project 'Corpus Rubenianum Ludwig Burchard Online' (2013-2016) enriches the digitized volumes by adding links to descriptions of artworks and images in RKDimages.

Online documentation on works of art

The Rubenianum contributes to the database RKDimages of the Netherlands Institute for Art History (RKD). It contains descriptions of Flemish paintings, drawings, sculptures, prints and tapestries produced before 1800. These descriptions include information on provenance and bibliographical references and are illustrated with digital images from the analogue and digital Rubenianum collections.
